Large country house to rent in the Beaujolais with private pool and spa

Weekend or Full Week

Looking for a large house to rent in the Beaujolais for a long weekend, a holiday or a family reunion? Gîte du Beaujolais Bleu, also known as Grand Gîte du Lac des Sapins, sits in Saint-Jean-la-Bussière, in the heart of the Beaujolais Vert. A genuine country house surrounded by nature, an hour from Lyon, designed to sleep up to 18 guests.

A character country house set over three floors

The Beaujolais is not only about vineyards. Its northern half, the Beaujolais Vert, is rolling, green and unspoilt country, ringed by woodland, meadows and footpaths. That is where this house stands, a short walk from Lac des Sapins.

The 50 m² central living space brings together the lounge, the dining room and a TV/hi-fi corner. The open-plan kitchen is fully equipped — large fridge-freezer, oven, hob, dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine and washing machine — and laid out so several people can cook without getting in each other’s way.

The 6 bedrooms, spread over three floors, are furnished simply and elegantly in natural materials that give the house its family-home feel. Everyone keeps their privacy: 6 bathrooms, 4 of them en-suite, plus 7 toilets.

A house with a heated pool and private spa

Our group holiday home in the Beaujolais brings together several spaces designed for relaxing and spending time together:

  • Heated pool and outdoor spa — in a 2,000 m² enclosed garden
  • Games room — table football, pinball, arcade cabinet and board games
  • Snug and study — suited to remote working or quieter moments
  • Covered terrace — brick barbecue, pétanque court, table tennis, playhouse and children’s play area

Few Beaujolais house rentals with a pool offer a heated pool, a 6-person spa and this much private outdoor space at once. Everyone finds their moment, whether gathering around a meal, getting active or simply stretching out in the sun.

Prime setting, with nature and activities close by

The house is two minutes from Lac des Sapins, a highlight of the Beaujolais Vert: swimming, pedalos, kayaking, treetop adventure, mini-golf, walking and mountain biking. This natural swimming lake is a pleasure in every season and a real asset for any holiday rental in the area.

The surroundings are full of country walks, picture-postcard villages and local markets. Wine lovers find their happiness along the vineyard trails, while anyone fond of rolling landscapes will enjoy the changing views. It is proper countryside quiet, without feeling cut off.

A warm house that feels like home

Part of what makes this large Beaujolais house work is its atmosphere. It has the charm of a family country house with every modern comfort: wood, natural materials, light and simplicity define the interior.

Everything is set up so you can simply enjoy being there. No need to bring half your own house — crockery in quantity, cooking equipment, games and garden furniture are all here. All that is left is to unpack.
